Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I

Yesterday I went to watch the movie I was waiting for all year long... Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I. (click here for my post with infos and trailers)
Amazing! I really liked the movie, it's been a while since I trully deeply liked one of Harry Potter's adaptations, I usually like the movies, but there is always a scene they omited that I keep asking myself why they did it... However, people who haven't read the books will probably think this movie is slower than the rest, and obviously doesn't have an "end"... Just keep in mind that the last Harry Potter book was divided into two movies, this one being the first part, so it will be more detailed, which will be a delight for the book readers, and it's end will be on the second part... Anyway it's a must see!
For the people who don’t know what the story is about, you’re probably from another planet, but anyway, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is the 7th and final book from the Harry Potter saga written by J.K. Rowling. Voldemort's power is growing stronger; he now has control over the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts. Harry, Ron, and Hermione decide to finish Dumbledore's work and find and destroy the rest of the Horcruxes to defeat the Dark Lord. But little hope remains for them, as they race against time and evil, they uncover the existence of three most powerful objects in the wizarding world: the Deathly Hallows.

Dexter: Early Cuts

Looking for information about the 5th season of Dexter (don't know the series? Read about it further down this post!) that is about to have its premiere (Sep. 27). I found out that Showtime has published what they are calling as an "Animated Websiode Series", which as I see it would be something like a series with animated episodes displayed on the internet, about Dexter's early cuts. I am sure that everybody who, just like me, love this series is gonna love these cartoons! There are three main episodes, telling the story of three victims: Gene Marshall (1993), Alex Timmons (2003) and Cindy Landon (2004). Each episode is divided into four chapters of 2 minutes each... I strongelly suggest everyone checking them out! (Link!) Check the trailer down here (if you can not see it, try going through this link and clicking "watch the trailer")

Taking advantage of the post, here is the fith season trailer for those who haven't seen it yet: (Carefull! Spoilers for those who haven't seen the fourth season!)

Now, for those who have never heard of Dexter (IMDb: 9.2, i♥movies: 8.8)... It is based on a very original idea first published by Jeff Lindsay in a series of books, telling the story of a Miami police forensic expert that actually is a serial killer himself who kills criminals he believed have escaped justice... Really original isn't it? Dexter's plot is very well contructed and developped, and you end up agreeing with this loveable serial killer! Hard to imagine, isn't it? Michael C. Hall is also increadible in the role of Dexter (I am SO glad he recovered from his cancer!) I do recommend it to anybody who is looking for a different, involving, interesting new series to watch. I still have not heard of a single person who has tried to watch Dexter and didn't like it! Here is the series promo:

Shutter Island (A Ilha do Medo)

Watching Inception this Friday remmembered me of one of the last films I watched in the movies, with some of the friends I went to see Inception. Another film which was really surprising and that I liked very much. This one is also with Leonardo DiCaprio, it's Shutter Island ("A Ilha do Medo" in Portuguese). Very interesting plot, really well constructed with an unespected ending. We left the cinema appalled. It is not as original as Inception, you will not be amazed during the whole film. However, and here I won't say much, 'cause I don't want to spoil the fun, but at some point the story will make a turn that is going to surprise everyone. I also highly recommend watching this movie.
Plot: Addapted from the book by Dennis Lehane originally named "Patient 67" and then changed to "Shutter Island", a drama set in 1954, U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding on the remote Shutter Island. Inception (A Origem)

Yesterday I went with a couple of friends to the movies to wath Inception ("A Origem" in Portuguese)... What a great movie! I was impressed. Coimpletly original idea, very catching, extremely well developed, very good ending. Even though this movie takes 2 hours and 28 minutes, you will be on the edge of your seats the whole time without even noticing time passing by. Definatelly a must see!
Plot: In a world where technology exists to enter the human mind through dream invasion, a single idea within one's mind can be the most dangerous weapon or the most valuable asset. A highly skilled thief is given a final chance at redemption which involves executing his toughest job till date, Inception. (eddited from IMDb and i♥movies).

Desperate Housewives & Pretty Little Liars

Yesterday the boxes of the first two seasons of Desperate Houseviwes arrived at home... I know it is a very well-know series, but believe it or not I had never watched it or had the interest to watch it. Maybe because of its name, I had never even read of what it was about...
A couple of months ago, I watched the promo for this new series called Pretty Little Liars, I got interested and watched the first episode, which I really liked... It wasn't until maybe the 3rd episode, that reading more about the series I got to know it was based in a book series by Sara Shepard and that it was being said to be a teen version of Desperate Housewives... Ok, maybe Desperate Housewives wasn't about what I was thinking of after all... I got the 1st episode and... Well, isn't it interesting? It really is an original idea! Pretty Little Liars goes on the same lines, eventhough the storyline is different (after all it is not a copy of DH...).
If you, like myself, never watched neither of them, give it a try... It is very different and catching! If you love DH, try PPL, I think you'll like it! Here are the plots and trailers for you to enjoy!!

Secrets and truths unfold through the lives of female friends in one suburban neighborhood, after the mysterious suicide of a neighbor. (IMDb)

Glee

As my iTunes Pick of the Day today was a song from the soundtrack of Glee, I thought it would be interesting to include a post in this section about Glee.

Glee could be resumed as a teen musical show, but that wouldn't do it any justice. It is the story of kids in high school that are trying to gain popularity, again by saying only this it sounds just like a huge cliché, but add up some funny scenes, some music and some dance performances accompained by great musical selection and very talented actors/singers and then you have Glee. Besides, the story can still surprise you even with its cliché parts.
To conclude, it is definatelly a show to try watching, even if you don't get really excited about the plot at first.
