Today we celebrate Children's Day in Brazil that coincides with Our Lady of Aparecida's Day, the country's Patron Saint, which is a national holiday. This year my mom decided to give me (because I'm still a child, ok? At least to her...) some cartoon/animation DVDs from my childhood that I've been wanting to get, but haven't (I'm so happy! =D)... They are:
Snow White, pursued by a jealous queen, hides with the Dwarfs; the queen feeds her a poison apple, but Prince Charming awakens her with a kiss. (IMDb)
IMDb: 7.8
A living puppet, with the help of a cricket as his conscience, must prove himself worthy to become a real boy. (IMDb)
IMDb: 7.7
Ridiculed because of his enormous ears, a young circus elephant is assisted by a mouse to achieve his full potential. (IMDb)
IMDb: 7.4
IMDb: 7.4
*I just LOVE this one! I know all songs by heart! XD
Belle, whose father Maurice is imprisoned by the Beast (really an enchanted Prince), offers herself instead and finds the prince inside the Beast. (IMDb)
IMDb: 8.0
Aladdin, a street urchin, accidentally meets Princess Jasmine, who is in the city undercover. They love each other, but she can only marry a prince. (IMDb)
IMDb: 7.8
A deformed bellringer must assert his independence from a vicious government minister in order to help his friend, a gypsy dancing girl. (IMDb)
IMDb: 6.5
A father-son underwater adventure featuring Nemo, a boy clownfish, stolen from his coral reef home. His timid father must then travel to Sydney and search Sydney Harbour to find Nemo. (IMDb)
IMDb: 8.2
*I love this one as well... So crazy, so different, so original, so interesting!
In the middle of her family's move to the suburbs, a sullen 10-year-old girl wanders into a world ruled by gods, witches, and monsters; where humans are changed into animals; and a bathhouse for these creatures. (IMDb)
IMDb: 8.5
Now I'm just a bit uncomfortable because I haven't been able to find several other Disney cartoons that were important to me, such as Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp, Fantasia (neither the original nor Fantasia 2000), The Little Mermaid, Bambi, Sleeping Beauty, Peter Pan, The Lion King, 101 Dalmatians (one of my favorites for sure!), etc. I don't know what I'm gonna do!!! :(
